Tucked away in the quiet countryside of North-Eastern Scotland and with lots to see and do, Wigwam® Holidays The Loft can be your peaceful escape and action-packed adventure all at once. With an onsite cafe, activity centre and over 20 Wigwam® cabins as well as pitches for tents and campervans, the site is a bustling hive for camping with lots to do, especially for kids!
Its location, however, between Elgin and Forress, is sedate and peaceful. This makes The Loft the perfect holiday destination for parents to relax while the kids have fun and play in the countryside.
With an onsite activity centre, there won’t be any claims of boredom during your Scottish glamping trip. Wake up to the sound of sheep and cockerels before making your way down to the cafe to enjoy a proper Scottish breakfast with some authentic Italian coffee - it’s a truly wonderful pairing.
After breakfast, why not take one of the site’s quad biking treks and zoom along through fields, woods and hills with one of their experienced instructors. Quad biking is certainly not the only activity available, though With fun pastimes like archery, laser tag, Waterwalkerz, Water Peddlerz, disc golf, pottery painting and much more available onsite, the old adage ‘only boring people get bored’ will have some real substance to it.
Having over 20 Wigwam® cabins onsite, The Loft really feels like a little community, with hordes of like-minded people who all want to get away from the crowds and enjoy the outdoors congregating at the site. The Loft has a real energy and buzz to it, with regular events held and so much going on at the site that you might even make a new friend or two! With each cabin having its own private deck and picnic table, though, you’ll still be able to recharge with as much alone time as you need.
There is also plenty to do and see nearby: the medieval town of Elgin is just a 15 minute drive from the site and boasts a fascinating history. Elgin Cathedral was first built by King Alexander II in 1224 and most of it still stands today. Take a tour around its ruins and immerse yourself in the ever-fascinating subject of medieval Scotiish history.
For those interested in the fine taste of Scottish whisky, Morayshire has a lot to offer, with many of the most famous distilleries hailing from the area. Glen Moray distillery is located in Elgin, so you’ll only have to travel 15 minutes to enjoy the good stuff right from the source. Tours of the distillery are available throughout the day and tastings can be enjoyed from the afternoon onwards.
Further afield is Inverness, perhaps best known for one of its most camera-shy residents, the Loch Ness Monster. Take a trip for a chance to see her and visit the UK’s most northern city at the same time. Monsters aside, you won't be stuck for things to do here. With a castle, art gallery, museum and lots of wonderful restaurants and cafes, Inverness makes for a great day trip.
As always, though, you don't need to go anywhere to enjoy your holiday when you stay at The Loft With such a peaceful and beautiful location and so much to do on site, you need only go as far as your picnic bench to enjoy the wonders of this site. Let your kids run around while you relax - Wigwam® Holidays The Loft makes it easy for you.
