Nestled among rolling green fields, on the edge of the picturesque market town of Tamworth and just thirty minutes in the car from the hustle and bustle of The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, you’ll find a real hidden gem of a glamping site.
Wigwam® Holidays Saxon Meadow is a lovely, quiet spot comprising of six luxury en-suite glamping pods, complete with private patio and al fresco dining area. The wooden cabins have spectacular views across the farm and beyond to the hills and fields further afield. You don’t need to book a cabin with a hot tub to enjoy the view, but it sure does help! Surrounded by such beauty, it won’t take long for you to unwind and enjoy your well-deserved break.
We’re all about fast-tracking the good times on your glamping holiday and if you are too, you’ll be glad to know that the feeling of true relaxation is at your fingertips morning till night. As well as hot tubs, available at three cabins onsite, we’d recommend a visit to the onsite Beauty Barn. Treatments here range from massages to facials and nail treatments. If you’re in need of a bit of pampering, there’s bound to be something on offer that will suit you. Do book ahead though - nobody wants to be disappointed on holiday.
Pampering aside, there is lots to do onsite at Wigwam® Holidays Saxon Meadow. There are many wide-open spaces for playing, running, hiding and cycling, and if the weather isn’t playing along, the sheltered BBQ lodge means enjoying a barbeque feast with your friends and family is still possible.
Further afield, there’s plenty to occupy glampers of all descriptions. Alton Towers is just 36 miles from the glamping site, so the journey is a little longer - but if you love thrills and adventure, it’s well worth the travelling time.
Thrills of a different kind are on tap at the Tamworth SnowDome - located a little closer to your Wigwam® Cabin at just four miles from the site. Skiing, sledging and snowboarding are all on the menu here, as well as a spot of swimming, so make sure to pack your swimwear.
The National Brewery Centre in Burton on Trent is just twenty minutes away. Here, you can enjoy a tour around the brewery and learn about the history of brewing in the area - whilst tasting a tipple or two, of course.
Just six miles from Wigwam® Holidays Saxon Meadow is the delightful Twycross Zoo. Open throughout the year, this family zoo is an award-winning park with over 500 animals to visit. With indoor and outdoor activities and interactive experiences, there are lots to do even if the weather is not on your side.
Drive along the B5493 for less than 20 minutes and you’ll find yourself immersed in a world of fun and adventure at Drayton Manor Park. Official home to Thomas Land (for those not in the know, that’s the cheery blue train - Thomas the Tank Engine and friends), this park plays host to so much more including a 15 acre zoo, over 100 rides and roller-coasters, a cinema and a haunted house that will push you to the edge! A great day out for kids of all ages - and the young at heart.
Less than 10 miles from Wigwam® Holidays Saxon Meadow (a short drive along the A444) and deep in the heart of the National Forest sits Conkers. An outdoor activity and adventure paradise for all ages (with lots to do on rainy days, too). The park is set on 120 acres of mature forest and boasts over 100 interactive activities and exhibits - including train rides, boating, sky ropes, climbing, adventure play and sky towers. Allow for a whole day to make the most of this incredible place. Plenty of shady spots for picnics, but of course there’s a tasty cafe for a treat
You’ll soon see that Wigwam® Holidays Saxon Meadow is the perfect hub for all sorts of fun and entertainment on a glamping break. However you choose to fill your days, there’s something very satisfying about heading back to a calm glamping site and your cosy, heated cabin. Sitting around the campfire with your loved ones, toasting marshmallows, and planning the next day’s adventures is a very pleasant way to end the day indeed.
