Nestled in the gently rolling hills of the Scottish Borders, Wigwam® Holidays Moffat is a great location for those looking for a quiet and peaceful weekend. The Wigwam® cabins onsite are situated well above the valley floor, giving them a stunning view over the forests and rivers of the surrounding area, and with your very own deck, picnic table and firepit, you’ll really be able to enjoy it. With plenty of little nooks and crannies to explore and lots of open space for kids to run around, everyone will be happy glamping at Wigwam® Holidays Moffat.

The town of Moffat is just a 10-minute drive away and boasts a number of attractions that are well worth checking out. If you’d like to find out about the town’s history, from its Roman roots, through its medieval spa days and status as an important hub for the wool industry all the way  to becoming a beloved tourist town, head to the town’s museum. There are some great restaurants and cafes here, too, so get some fish and chips to take back to your Wigwam® cabin or sit down for a delicious Italian meal. Whatever you’re into, Moffat can cater to your tastes.

St Mary’s Loch is another local attraction that is definitely worth a visit. The Loch is utterly stunning and provides some of the best views in the Scottish Borders. It was one of Sir Walter Scott's favourite places and if you do visit, it’ll be easy to see why.

If you have bikes and you're feeling up to it, the road to St Mary’s Loch also makes for a great cycle. If that sounds like a lot of hard work, the loch is only a 20-minute drive from Wigwam® Holidays Moffat. Take a pair of walking boots with you and enjoy some of the trails that meander around St Mary’s Loch for a refreshing day of hiking.

Fancy a bit of a thrill? Lucky for you, there are lots of great mountain biking trails around this area. The biggest and best for beginners is Glentress Forest. It’s just over an hour’s drive from the glamping site so you’d probably want to make a day of it, but once you get there it’ll be well worth the trip. Glentress is one of the biggest and best mountain bike trail centres in the UK. With trails available for all ability levels and lots of bike hire options, it’s easy to have a great day out at Glentress Forest.

Or, if what you want most is a weekend of quiet relaxation in the beautiful Scottish Borders, Wigwam® Holidays Moffat has you covered without you having to move a muscle. Park up and head straight to your Wigwam® cabin where you can spend the rest of the weekend out on the deck enjoying the view or getting warm and cosy inside.
