Maglia Rosso
Description
The beauty of Suffolk is a fairly well-kept secret. Until now! Booking into a luxury en-suite glamping cabin on the Wigwam® Holidays Maglia Rosso site is a wonderful way to discover the delights of Suffolk. If you can bring yourself to leave the glamping site, that is.
Wigwam® Holidays Maglia Rosso is a modern and bright glamping site, tucked away in the village of Hawstead, deep in the East Anglian countryside. There are five pretty wooden glamping cabins onsite which sleep up to four people. Each one is kitted out with everything you need for a lovely break.
If someone you’re glamping with uses a wheelchair or requires a little extra support for mobility, there is also a Wigwam® Fully Accessible Lodge onsite. This larger lodge has added extras to give better support and comfort to those of us with additional mobility requirements, including a ramp for easy access, grab rails throughout and lowered sinks and cookers. Now everybody really can enjoy a glamping holiday in the great outdoors - whatever their abilities. It’s also perfect for slightly larger groups, as it sleeps five people.
Onsite you’ll find a cafe that opens at 9 am for brekkie and stays open throughout the day for tasty bites. Here, you can also grab some glamping essentials, so don’t worry if you forget to pack teabags!
The site shares the grounds of the Maglia Rosso Cycle Centre so there are lots of great cycle paths to explore. The centre also hires out bikes. These include electric-assisted bikes, making this a truly accessible glamping location.
After you’ve explored the site and the wonderful nature trails around it, you might want to venture further afield. In which case, the town of Bury St. Edmunds is just 4 miles along the road. If you’re reluctant to hop off your trusty bike, you can make the journey in under thirty minutes, while the trip takes fifteen minutes by car along Bury Road.
There is lots to see and do here - St Edmundsbury Cathedral holds the secret to the legend of St Edmund, and the ruins of the Abbey of St Edmund dates back to the 1000s when it was a vital monastery in medieval Britain. If the weather is nice, a visit to Abbey Gardens is highly recommended. And of course, no bustling town is complete without a good mix of restaurants, cafes and pubs to dine in.
Further afield - but definitely worth the travel time - is the coastal town of Lowestoft. Packed with museums, theatres and funfairs, there’s a lot to entertain you here. Perhaps best of all is the long golden beach - perfect for walking or sunbathing and enjoying life in a traditional English beach town.
Glamping at Wigwam® Holidays Maglia Rosso leaves you wide open for lots of great holiday activities but most importantly, it gives you the chance to kick back and relax in lovely surroundings. It won’t take long for the fresh air and lush green countryside to get to work as you ease into a glamping holiday like no other.
