Llŷn Peninsula
Description
If your idea of a wonderful holiday is to get away from it all, Wigwam® Holidays Llyn Peninsula will not disappoint. Officially recognised as an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty, the Llyn Peninsula is a hidden gem, far from busy city life, set in rural North Wales. This green and peaceful glamping site is a haven for rest and relaxation.
Picturesque wooden Wigwam® Cabins are nestled in the lush countryside, surrounded by rolling hills and breathtaking views over the Garn Fadryn mountain. Each cabin is en-suite with a fully-fitted kitchen and enough sleeping space for up to four people. Enjoy the scenery over breakfast or leisurely lunch in your own dining area and plan your adventures from there.
This glamping site is the perfect spot for couples and families who enjoy a calmer holiday. Larger groups are welcome but hen and stag parties are not permitted.
There are lots of activities in and around Wigwam® Holidays Llyn Peninsula for you to enjoy. The wide-open spaces are perfect for stretching out, playing games and running around with the kids. For something a little different, try your hand at carp fishing in the well-stocked fishing lake, which guests are welcome to use. The site has easy access to local nature trails and country walks - and if hill walking is your thing, the treks around the site are not to be missed.
Staying on a glamping site with such beautiful surroundings, you’ll find it hard to tear yourself away from your luxury Wigwam® Cabin. If you do fancy exploring the wider area, there are lots of ways to keep you and your family or friends busy.
Wigwam® Holidays Llyn Peninsula is a 15-30 minute drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in Wales. Gather shells and splash in rock pools at Porthdinllaen Beach, or relax on the whistling sands of Porth Oer beach.
The glamping site is also a short drive from the town of Criccieth, which is a Cosy Outdoors must-visit destination. You’ll see why when you walk around the ruins of the gravity-defying castle perched high over the beach.
And if you are a train enthusiast - or if you simply enjoy relaxing whilst sightseeing by rail - then hop on a steam train at Porthmadog, home of the Welsh Highland Steam Railways. Kids usually go free and there are often wonderful themed events on. Halloween and Christmas events are always popular, so it’s worth checking the calendar. Booking your tickets for the events in advance is necessary.
A twenty-minute drive along the B4413 takes you to the bustling seaside resort of Abersoch. Here you will find lots of distractions on and off the water, although the village is best known for its water sports. Sailing, surfing and wakeboarding are all popular here. But if you’re not a watersport fan, don’t worry! Abersoch has a busy and varied events calendar throughout the year for every interest, including casino nights, treasure hunts, food festivals, races, marathons and even a regatta.
With so much to see and do in the Llyn Peninsula, your relaxing and peaceful holiday could end up being very active after all! And after a busy day spent beachcombing, wakeboarding, mountain trekking or wining and dining, we can’t think of a better way to unwind than by settling down outside your Wigwam® Cabin around your own campfire and enjoying the delights of the night sky with your favourite people.
