Larkworthy Farm

If you seek a glamping holiday in Devon as far away from a traditional site as you can get, then Larkworthy Farm Wigwam® is just the place for you. Less of a glamping site and more of your own slice of Devonshire countryside, this is a wonderful - and beautiful spot - to set up home on while you explore the wider Devonshire area.

There is just one picturesque Wigwam® cabin here - so booking is essential. The cabin sits on the edge of the farm, with views across an orchard and beyond to the grazing animals and rolling hills. This is a view you will enjoy each morning as you breakfast heartily from your own picnic table, which sits in your private dining area outside your glamping pod.

The wooden Wigwam® cabin has all the home comforts you could need for an exquisite glamping break in this part of the world. The walls and floors are fully insulated and the double glazed windows and patio doors, along with the electric panelled heating make this a warm and comfortable accommodation option. Inside the cabin is a sofa bed and a double bed - each with luxury mattresses for a great night’s sleep. There is plenty of room inside for making yourself at home. Under-bed storage keeps everything neatly tucked away and a dining table and chairs. This sits beside the fully stocked kitchenette with a sink, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle and all the utensils, crockery and cutlery you’ll need.

The en-suite bathroom and shower is a wonderful addition to an already luxurious glamping pod. The electric shower and heated towel rail keep it cosy so those middle of the night toilet trips is no longer a dreadful thought!

The owners of Larkworthy Farm Wigwam® have designed the glamping hideaway with your privacy in mind, so you don’t have to visit the farm unless you want to. Guests are invited to book a 4x4 safari around the farm, visiting the animals and seeing the land in a completely new area. The safari takes around an hour and is for up to four people.

From the farm, you can access a footpath which leads to the local village to stock up on supplies for your glamping trip. The location of the farm means there are lots of lovely country lanes, so walks and cycle trips are a real joy here.

If you’re glamping in Devon and Cornwall it’s likely you have most of the trip planned out - the area is a treasure trove of exciting and fascinating activities and tourist attractions. However, if you’d rather not drive around Devon all day on your holiday and enjoy days out and activities closer to the glamping site then Larkworthy Farm Wigwam® is an ideal location, in the centre of West Devon, for you to do just that.

Just 5 miles from the site is the beautiful town of Holsworthy. There’s plenty of little shops and cafes here for a bite to eat and stock up on your glamping supplies. The Holsworthy Inn has a delicious seasonal menu and is worth a trip. There’s a tourist information centre here for planning trips further afield and a wonderful little folk museum - Holsworthy Museum - with fascinating exhibits about life through the ages in West Devon.

No glamping break is complete without a day at the beach and it’s a thirty-minute drive to Summerleaze Beach, which is pretty as a picture. White beach huts kiss the sand dunes and the golden sand is soft enough for sandcastle building - or lying on your back and reading, whichever suits!

Some days you’ll just want to walk in nature and enjoy the calming sounds and Cookworthy Moor is perfect for this. 15 minutes from your glamping pod. The forest has nature trails and cycle paths and bird spotting areas dotted around the walks. There are picnic benches, too and an information centre in the Celtic roundhouse. Further afield, for even more country walks and treks visit Dunsland Nature Park.

Family activities are not too far away from the glamping site either. Our favourite is the Milky Way Adventure Park and Tree-Surfers.
