Great Tregath

Cornwall is a rather magical place - and there’s no better way to enjoy it than on a glamping break. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous coastlines, great food and rich history combine to make for a wonderful holiday. To make the most of it all, you need the perfect base for your Cornish adventures.  And we think you’ve found it in Wigwam® Holidays Great Tregath!

This lovely little spot is located just 1 ½ miles from the town of Camelford and a short drive from the famous Cornwall coastline.  The site is made up of six luxury Wigwam® cabins which sleep up to four adults. The cabins are kitted out with everything you need for a relaxing glamping break, including an en-suite bathroom. They’re also double glazed, insulated and heated so you’ll stay cosy whatever the weather.

You can book extra bundles to make things easier before setting off. Optional extras include bedding and towel bundles - and there’s even the option of adding a wood-fired hot tub to your booking. It’s perfect for unwinding and enjoying the scenery across the fields leading to the Cornish coast.

Wigwam® Holidays Great Tregath is just a short drive away from the legendary Tintagel Castle, an attraction well worth a visit. Legend has it that Merlin hid in the caves around the castle, and you can visit his hiding place by accessing a not-so-secret underpass from the castle. While you’re in the area, it’s also worth stopping off at Tintagel Toy museum which has a fine selection of old toys to take you on a trip through memory lane.

Museums are a wonderful way to learn about local areas and traditions, and it’s often the smaller folk museums that leave lasting impressions. That’s certainly true of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle,  which is a quick 15-minute drive from the glamping site.

Home to the largest collection of witchcraft artefacts in the world, the exhibitions here explore the history of magical practice in Britain and take a look at belief systems from across the globe. The gift shop has a curious array of knick-knacks and there are often unusual events and talks taking place at the museum.

If you enjoy getting out into the fresh air and sightseeing while walking, you’ll be pleased to know that Wigwam® Holidays Great Tregath is very close to the South West Coast Path, one of the UK’s most beautiful National Trails. Completing this path takes an estimated 52 days, so you might want to check the online maps to plan a shorter route that fits within your holiday itinerary!

Being so close to the coast means there are lots of great beaches to while away an afternoon. Be it a calm picnic on the sand, an afternoon of shell hunting and inspecting rock pools or a thrilling time on the water in a kayak or learning to surf, there’s always plenty to do on the South West Cornwall beaches. Wigwam® Holidays Great Tregath is just 3 miles from Trebarwith Strand Beach and the beaches of Port Isaac.

With so much to do in this wonderful corner of Cornwall, it’s easy to forget the importance of relaxation. Unwinding in beautiful surroundings and slowing down with your favourite people is the best way to leave behind the fuss and bustle of normal life. So don’t forget to stop and relax around your Wigwam® cabin, too, watching the sunset with your children, toasting marshmallows with your partner and letting the magic of the fresh Cornish air get to work!
