Chawton Park Farm
Description
The Hampshire countryside is a wonderful destination for a glamping holiday with lush, green countryside and acres upon acres of native woodland bringing you endless activities and adventure. And Wigwam® Holidays Chawton Park Farm is the perfect base to make a glamping break here truly special.
Six warm and bright Wigwam® cabins sit amidst a small orchard. Each cabin has its own outdoor dining area and firepit and enjoys views across the farm and orchard. Inside, the cabins have all the little luxuries you need for a wonderful holiday. Comfy foam mattresses, electricity and heating throughout and ensuite bathroom and washing facilities all add to the experience. There’s a well-kitted out kitchenette and a dining area inside, too.
The glamping site overlooks a Medieval deer park and has easy access to cycling and walking routes. The farm is within walking distance of the local pub and shops so you can stock up on essential glamping items for your BBQ and campfire in the evening.
There’s so much to do around Hampshire that you’ll need to make sure you plan your days well. Step back in time and visit the Jane Austen House Museum. This iconic Grade 1 listed building is where Austen wrote her highly-acclaimed novels like Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Mansfield Park and Sense and Sensibility among many others. Wander around the cottage and garden and take in the exhibitions and displays that lead you through the life of this extraordinary woman.
While you’re visiting Jane Austen’s home, it’s worth spending a few hours wandering around the picturesque village of Chawton. Here, you’ll findcafes and little shops to while away a few hours as well as the historic Chawton House and the Chawton House Library. The town of Chawton is a short walk from the market town of Alton which has even more rural English charm to keep you busy.
The Curtis Museum is a fantastic little place to visit with changing exhibitions showcasing over 100 million years of Hampshire history. They also regularly host immersive events such as battle reenactments and workshops. And if you love sightseeing, then you’re in for a real treat when you hop on the Watercress Line steam railway for a chance to experience a traditional steam train journey through the villages of Alresford, Ropley and Selbourne.
