Causeway Coast

Sitting at the heart of some of Northern Ireland’s most stunning coastal scenery is the picturesque and friendly campsite known as Causeway Coast Wigwams®. Its proximity to the Causeway Coast - voted the number 1 destination to visit by Lonely Planet in 2018 - makes it a great spot to relax, stretch out and unwind.

Just over an hour’s drive from Belfast, this picturesque haven of calm is just the tonic to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a calmer pace of life.

On-site, there’s plenty to do and lots of options for accommodation, from self-catering cottages to spots for RVs and campervans and from traditional tents to the first and only Wigwam® cabins in Northern Ireland. If you opt for a Wigwam®, you can choose from two types of cabins. The Running Water Deluxe boasts an en-suite bathroom and a fully-fitted kitchenette. These cabins sleep up to four adults or a family of five. For larger capacity family glamping, try out the Big Chief Cabins which sleep up to 5 and are set close to the communal kitchen and toilet facilities.

All Wigwam® cabins are well-insulated and double glazed for a warm and cosy break. They also boast electric heating and luxury foam mattresses for a great night’s sleep after a busy day. Each cabin also has an outdoor dining area and a firepit, which is just perfect for enjoying a night around the fire, toasting marshmallows and sharing stories and songs with your loved ones.

Onsite, there are loads to keep you busy: a games room with a pool table and a big range of games as well as go-karts for the bigger kids (and the young at heart). There’s a play park for the kids to go wild in - and even better, you can keep an eye on them from the comfort of your own Wigwam® Cabin while you unwind and enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of something soothing.

The site is just 5 minutes from the historic town of Bushmills. Here you’ll find all the shops you need to stock up on essentials to make your glamping adventure in Northern Ireland go swimmingly.

There are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to enjoy, too, and the town is home to one of the oldest licensed distilleries in the world - the Old Bushmills Distillery. It’s a fascinating place to visit, where you’ll learn all of the secrets of the distillery, the distillery process and interesting facts such as what makes up the ‘angel’s share’ in whiskey terminology. There are also free samples at the end, so keep that in mind when you’re deciding who the designated driver is!

Causeway Coast Wigwams® takes its name from the world-renowned coastal route, and its location makes it the perfect spot to take a pause from exploring this beautiful area. Popular with hikers, bikers and road trippers, you’ll meet lots of like-minded folk onsite who are having similar adventures to you.

If you don’t have a big road trip planned, don’t worry! The location of this Wigwam® Site means you can still enjoy fabulous adventures along the Causeway Coast and Glens without having to embark on a journey of epic proportions.

Case in point, less than ten minutes from the site is the awe-inspiring Giant’s Causeway. This UNESCO World Heritage Site and nature reserve was formed over 60 million years ago and legend has it that the hexagonal columns were built by Irish giants - hence the name.

Another famous landmark along the Causeway Coast is Dunluce Castle, just a short drive from your glamping site. This medieval castle perches on the edge of a staggeringly high cliff. Wandering around the site, it’s easy to see how the castle’s kitchens once fell into the sea in a great storm during the 1600s.

True history mixes with wild tales from folklore and local legends in this dramatic and enticing castle. To learn more, download the free Dunluce app - it’s a must when walking around the impressive castle and its grounds.
