Perhaps more than any other, this site resembles that wonderfully safe, secluded and peaceful shire those poor hobbits had to leave in The Lord of the Rings. Thankfully, you’re unlikely to come across any old Wizards taking you to Mordor on your trip to Wigwam® Holidays Builth Wells. This will free up your weekend for other activities like relaxing on the deck and taking in the views of the rolling Welsh hills that make this such a beautiful location.
Despite its quiet and secluded feel, the site is only an hour’s drive from Cardiff and a two-hour drive from Birmingham, making it the perfect weekend escape from the noise and chaos of the city! With six Running Water Deluxe Wigwam® Cabins, plenty of space for kids to run around, hot tubs and their very own lake, you’ll have everything you need here.
If you’re visiting in the summer, you might fancy taking a dip in the lake, just a minute’s walk down from the cabin. If you like the idea of getting in the water but don’t much care for getting wet, there are kayaks available free of charge that you can float around on (life jackets are also available).
Even if you’re not visiting the site in the summer, you could go for a cold, refreshing plunge into the lake before warming up in your very own wood-fired hot tub next to your cabin. Or, if you’re not up for the challenge, you could just go straight from the warmth and comfort of your cabin straight into the warmth and comfort of your hot tub - it’s completely up to you!
There’s much to do and see away from the site as well. Placed right in the middle of Wales, Wigwam® Holidays Builth Wells is a great spot to explore this beautiful and diverse country.
Within the small town of Builth itself, there are some interesting attractions, including the historic town bridge and the Weyside arts centre. The latter is a cultural hub for the community, showcasing local art, hosting film nights, dances and even some big-name comedians from time to time. You can check all the information, including dates and times on their website.
For something slightly further afield, the Brecon Beacons National Park is only a 40-minute drive from the sight. Witness to almost 1000 years of local history, Abergavenny Castle and Museum is the perfect place for an immersive Welsh history lesson, located a 50-minute drive from Wigwam® Holidays Builth Wells. As the castle is surrounded by the hills and rivers that make the Brecon Beacons such a beautiful area, there are plenty of walks and other activities to take on after your visit - if you have the energy!
As always, you don’t have to go anywhere for a perfectly wonderful and cosy holiday. Stock up on supplies before you arrive and your own Running Water Deluxe Wigwam® will have everything needed, from the time you wake up to a lakeside view to the evening when you can relax under a starlit sky. Glamping in Wales doesn’t get much better!
